On March 18 Beijing time, TMZ Sports learned that Phoenix Suns player Dillon Brooks had another encounter with law enforcement two months before his DUI arrest earlier this month—the player was issued a ticket for reckless driving and speeding.

According to the incident report, shortly after midnight on January 13, an officer stated that Dillon was driving at 137 km/h in a zone with a speed limit of 72 km/h. This happened several hours after the Suns defeated the Washington Wizards.
The officer wrote in the report that he was "concerned about the extreme risk of a catastrophic collision or vehicle striking pedestrians."
The report noted: "Multiple businesses in the area were still open. A collision at such speed could result in multiple fatalities or severe injuries." Body camera footage shows an officer approaching Dillon's vehicle after pulling him over. When Dillon asked if he was stopped for speeding, the officer confirmed.

Minutes later, the officer stepped out of his own vehicle and informed Dillon that he would be cited for reckless driving, stating:
"Speeding exceeding 56 km/h constitutes reckless driving."
"Speeding exceeding 34 km/h constitutes severe speeding."
Fortunately for Dillon, who was accompanied by a woman at the time, his car was not impounded… He only received a ticket and was then allowed to leave.
Currently, his court date for this case is scheduled next month… Records indicate he faces two charges: reckless driving and speeding exceeding 32 km/h.
The police's remarks sounded almost as if they were familiar with Dillon and his driving habits. While speaking with Dillon, one officer said:
"Every time you drive on this street, especially over the past week, you've been speeding excessively."
"Far exceeding the speed limit."

As previously reported, Dillon Brooks was arrested earlier this month for DUI (Driving Under Influence). Around 1 a.m., he was pulled over in Scottsdale for a traffic violation… After investigation, he was arrested for suspected driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
This arrest was not related to alcohol. In the body camera footage obtained, police stated Dillon's car smelled like a marijuana shop. The police explained the stop was due to observing him weaving between lanes… He immediately countered the officer, claiming they were also weaving on the same road.
Dillon claimed he had not used marijuana in the past six months. A breath alcohol test confirmed he had not consumed alcohol that night—his Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) showed 0.0.

Regarding his on-court situation: Dillon has not played since the Suns' game against the Magic on February 22, as he is recovering from a fractured left hand. He is expected to be reevaluated by the end of this month or early April.
