With the CBA season over, the focus must shift to the national team.
The Chinese men's basketball team currently has four games scheduled this year: friendlies against Australia (June 21) and the Netherlands (June 23), plus World Cup qualifier games in the third window against Japan and Chinese Taipei.

There have been changes to the Chinese men's basketball roster, with Jiang Weize, Liu Jinyu, Zou Yang, Hu Mingxuan, and Li Yuezhu departing.

At the same time, Zeng Fanbo, He Xining, and Wang Haoran have joined the team.

Hu Mingxuan, a regular national team member, was left out mainly due to his injuries. He has been suffering from persistent knee problems and even developed Achilles tendon issues., in the regular season last year he played 36 games for Guangdong, starting 28 times, averaging 8.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3 assists, with shooting percentages of 34.6% and 31.3%. In this year's playoffs, he averaged 14.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists, shooting 51% from the field and hitting 2.8 three-pointers per game at a 48.6% clip.

In short, Hu Mingxuan needs rest, especially since the national team's shooting guard position now has the new MVP He Xining, making Hu not indispensable.
Last summer was great for this guy; in the Asian Cup final against a strong Australian team, he scored 26 points and led China to a narrow 1-point loss in a hard-fought battle. Unfortunately, he won't have a chance to repeat that heroic performance this summer.

As for Zhao Rui, the current backbone of the Chinese men's basketball team, he is expected to join along with Zhang Zhenlin and Li Hongquan, who just helped Shanghai win the championship, as well as Hu Jinqiu and Zhu Junlong from this year's runner-up team Guangsha; they will soon all be added to the national team. As for Zhou Qi, he is in the United States commentating on the NBA Finals...

According to usual practice, the Chinese men's basketball team will only bring three centers to FIBA events. Hu Jinqiu and Yang Hansen have secured two spots, while Xu Xin is the top contender for the third center position. Yu Jiahao, who plays in the Spanish second division, recently underwent foot surgery and may not be able to return in time.

Best wishes to the Chinese men's basketball team for securing another two consecutive wins in the crucial upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign; in the previous two windows they achieved a 2-2 record, placing third in Group B.
