Big trouble...

James probably never imagined that a simple round of golf could land him in legal hot water?

During the off-season, James recently went on vacation near the Faraglioni rock formations on the island of Capri in the Bay of Naples, Italy. Naturally, he wanted to take a swing, but he ended up hitting the golf ball into the Mediterranean Sea.
The president of the Italian environmental protection association, Matteo Marchetti, filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office in Naples to determine whether the golf ball James used was made of biodegradable material. If it caused potential environmental damage, James could face 2 to 6 years in prison and a fine of 10,000 to 100,000 euros.

Since James is currently an unrestricted free agent, the Lakers have not issued any official statement and have not felt the need to step in. James himself has not responded yet either.

But to be fair, it’s unlikely James will actually be arrested. He will probably just pay a fine and apologize, and that’ll be the end of it.

Now 41 years old, James played 60 regular-season games this season, averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 51.5%, 31.7%, and 73.7%. In this year's playoffs, he averaged 23.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.3 steals, with shooting percentages of 45.9%, 32.7%, and 74.6%.
Where will this 40-something veteran go next? There’s no clear answer yet, but rumors are flying everywhere.

Reporter Siegel reported: "The Warriors are interested in pursuing James this summer, and Curry is even planning to personally recruit him to join the team. "
Oh, a Curry-James duo, recreating the glory of the 2024 Paris Olympics? The combination of these two superstar figures would undoubtedly generate massive attention.
The question is, with the Warriors' limited salary cap space, how much money can they offer James?
Reporter Kawakami stated: "The Warriors can offer James a full mid-level exception worth up to $15.1 million."
This season, James' annual salary was $52.63 million. The last time he earned a double-digit million salary was back in the 2013-14 season with the Heat.

It's not impossible for James to play for a double-digit million salary again after 12 years, but only if he sees a real chance to pursue his fifth career championship. The current Warriors, however, don't seem to be part of the championship conversation anymore.
