Shut up! LeBron James seemed to fire back at Beverley after the latter claimed he would announce his next team today.

On July 21 Beijing time, former NBA player Patrick Beverley had predicted that LeBron James would announce his free agency destination today. Shortly after, the 41-year-old star posted on social media, apparently hitting back at Beverley's remarks.

James shared a video on his Instagram story from his friend, comedian Hart, who said into the camera: "I don't know who needs to hear this... shut your mouth!" James captioned it: "That's right! Shut up!"

Right after Beverley tweeted that James was expected to reveal his next team today, James posted this update. U.S. media believes James's post was directed at Beverley: "Now that Beverley has transitioned into media and hosts a podcast, he is not known for breaking reliable news. No one knows where his information came from. James's move is clearly a reminder to him: verify your sources."

Though the entire basketball world is waiting for his decision, James made it clear he is in no rush to announce his plans. At a fantasy basketball fan event over the weekend, he stated in advance that he would not be revealing his destination anytime soon.

Even as he prepares to enter his 24th NBA season, it is an open secret that James's legendary career is nearing its end. However, he has not indicated that the 2026-27 season will be his last.

“People in sports always talk, ‘When is he retiring? He should retire, he’s that old,’” James said during a live episode of *The Shop*. “But why? Why does everyone keep pushing athletes who are still performing at a high level to retire, forcing this narrative of ‘it’s time to end the show’? … As long as we are fully committed to this game, still giving everything to basketball, never disrespecting the sport, playing our hearts out, and generating revenue for the league, why can’t we keep going? As long as I still love basketball, why can’t I keep playing? So I just want to do my best and continue enjoying every moment on the court.”
