The Tianjin team officially announced: Lin Tingqian rejected a full D-class max renewal contract (annual salary of 6 million RMB) and chose to join the Taishin Warriors of the TPBL league in Taiwan, China.

According to well-known media sources, Lin Tingqian's salary at his new team is reported to be nearly 10 million RMB per year, exceeding the CBA's maximum annual salary.

Lin Tingqian expressed his gratitude on his personal social media, writing: "Mountains and rivers may meet again, and the future holds promise. I hope to return here in a different capacity one day."
According to the rules, if this player returns to the CBA in the future, he can only continue playing for the Tianjin team, unless his top-salary priority renewal rights are traded to another CBA club.

Lin Tingqian was born on October 31, 1999, standing 1.95m tall with a 1.92m wingspan, a combo guard. He was the 2020 CBA draft's third overall pick. In six seasons with the Tianjin team, he was selected to the All-Star game three times and once to the domestic best second team. His stats are as follows:
Regular season: averaged 34.3 minutes, 16.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.8 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 42.8%, 32.7%, and 77.5% (field goal, three-point, and free throw respectively).
Playoffs: averaged 36.5 minutes, 17 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.5 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 52%, 50%, and 100%.

Lin Tingqian also performed well in FIBA competitions. For example, in the World Cup Qualifiers this July against the Chinese men's basketball team, he shot 9 of 18 for 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist. In the 2022 Asian Cup against China, he shot 10 of 17 for an explosive 30 points, 1 rebound, and 5 assists.

It's worth noting that before Lin Tingqian left, the core interior foreign player David James had already packed his bags and taken his talents to the Goyang Sono Skygunners, the runner-up team of the Korean KBL league. He spent all four seasons of his CBA career with the Tianjin team. His stats are as follows:
Regular season: averaged 32.2 minutes, 22.2 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 48.9%, 36.9%, and 82%.

By the way, David James was once a hot naturalization candidate for the Chinese men's basketball team...
