Harden's misdemeanor charges have been dropped! He was arrested for illegally carrying a firearm and has completed an alternative resolution agreement.

On August 7, Beijing time, James Harden's gun case will not carry over into the start of the NBA season. As per court records examined by the California Post, the misdemeanor charge of illegal firearm possession filed against the Cleveland Cavaliers guard following his arrest in June was dropped this past Thursday.

In the motion to dismiss the case, the Harris County District Attorney in Texas stated that Harden had completed a "alternative resolution agreement," leading prosecutors to close the matter.

Court records show that a judge officially approved the dismissal motion before 4 p.m. Central Time. Requests for comment sent to Harden's attorney and the Harris County District Attorney's office went unanswered.

On June 13, Houston police stopped Harden during a routine traffic check and discovered a gun—not holstered and fully exposed—inside the vehicle of the 11-time All-Star, leading to his detention.

Harden has never publicly commented on the arrest. On the day of the incident, the Cavaliers issued a statement saying they were "aware" of the situation and were "gathering more information."

The team added: "We are in communication with James and his representatives and will continue to monitor the situation. At this time, we have no further comment."

Harden spent nine seasons with the Rockets during his NBA career. Before joining the Cavaliers this season, he played for the Los Angeles Clippers for over two years.
