Official Announcement! Hello, Yuki Kawamura! The NBA's Top Asian Point Guard

The Clippers officially announced:They signed Yuki Kawamura to an Exhibit 10 contract.

Players on an Exhibit 10 contract can only participate in Summer League, training camp, and preseason games. They must be converted to a two-way contract before the regular season starts to play in the regular season; otherwise, they will be waived. Typically, they are cut before the regular season begins but get the opportunity to play for the team's G League affiliate.

In his NBA career over the past two years, playing for the Grizzlies and Bulls respectively, Yuki Kawamura obtained two-way contracts each time. However, this summer league representing the Pacers, he averaged 17.5 minutes per game, putting up 8.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2 turnovers, with a shooting percentage of only 34.4% and a three-point percentage as low as 7.7%. His poor performance prevented him from starting a new journey as a two-way player like before.

By the way, Japanese forward Rui Hachimura is also currently playing for the Clippers, having signed a two-year, $28 million contract earlier.

Barring any surprises, these two will return to the Japanese men's national basketball team for the fourth window of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, facing Saudi Arabia on August 27 and Qatar on August 31.

As for Lee Hyun-jung, who played for the Spurs this summer league, averaging 17.2 minutes per game with 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists (shooting 35.3% from the field and 28.9% from three), he has not yet received any contract but has received training camp invitations from the Pelicans and Celtics, both of which have open two-way contract slots.

After finishing his mini-camp work with NBA teams, Lee Hyun-jung will represent the South Korean men's national team in the World Cup qualifiers against Lebanon on August 27 and Saudi Arabia on August 31. It is also reported that he will participate in the Nagoya Asian Games (September 19 - October 4).
