Savannah James, LeBron's wife, recently spoke candidly in front of the camera, stating that it's tough to be in love with a celebrity of LeBron James' stature. She elaborated on how his unwavering consistency has simplified her life.

Being married to one of the world's most popular figures has its advantages, but it's not always a bed of roses. Savannah, who has been married to James for over a decade, discussed their relationship on the "Question Everything" podcast.

At one point, Savannah was asked just how hard it is to love a celebrity like LeBron, who shows one side to the world and a different side when he's relaxed at home.

Savannah responded, "Yes, it's hard. It's a journey, but I'd say one thing about LeBron James is that he's extremely consistent in this regard. He's so consistent that it makes everything easier. And we know each other—I mean, I've known him longer than I've been alive, if that makes sense."

Savannah, now 39, met LeBron when she was 16. She has known him for more than half her lifetime.

"When he's consistent, everything becomes simple. On the court, he undoubtedly shows his true self, his strength, and his inspiring nature, but when he comes home, those same qualities translate into a husband and father—different in direction but the same at their core."

Savannah and LeBron began dating in high school and tied the knot on September 14, 2013. In an era where many couples seem to go their separate ways, they have remained together through the years.

When asked for advice for other athletes' spouses or partners, Savannah said that although she treasures LeBron, she wishes she had taken better care of herself earlier on.

"My advice is—and this is something I didn't do early on and now wish I had—to focus on yourself just as much as you focus on your partner. Don't lose yourself in the little things, don't lose yourself in the kids, don't lose yourself in the facade of it all. Try to stay grounded."

"Try to stay—I'd say—true to yourself and to the relationship you originally built. I think that's what really helped LeBron and me. We are the most ordinary people. I mean, from the world's perspective. We are completely from Akron, Ohio. That's all we can do."

"And I believe that's what has kept us grounded and focused on what truly matters over the years. So if I could give any advice, I'd just say: stay grounded, take yourself, your partner, and how you got to this point seriously, and then support each other as you grow together."

Speaking of support, Savannah has been providing it for over 20 years. In a few months, James will begin his 24th NBA season, meaning he will be away from home for extended periods.

Savannah has held down the fort without complaint. She says that when you know you're with the right person, everything falls into place. Throughout James' long career, she has been happy to support and cheer him on. When asked if it's harder than people imagine, Savannah confirmed it is.

"It is. I think it's presented in a certain light... that's what you crave. So when you come back to real life, real emotions, real growth, and real distractions, it gets tricky. So you really need to fully invest in the person you love, and you need deep understanding and deep patience."

"Understand where they come from, understand the current situation, and everything that might happen in the future. So, yes, staying grounded is extremely important in all of this, in my opinion."

Indeed, it's rare to find someone with this mindset nowadays. James is truly fortunate to have found someone like Savannah. She is the only person who can "guard" James.

James has praised Savannah for allowing him to continue chasing the title of greatest of all time, keep playing, and delay retirement. He also admitted that without her, he would not have achieved what he has today.
