On August 11, Beijing time, NBA fans don't need to wait much longer—the 2026-27 regular season schedule is about to be announced. According to ESPN's access to the league's schedule release timeline: the opening week and Christmas Day matchups will be revealed first on Wednesday (Beijing time, same below) during the "Good Morning America" program. Following that, the NBA Cup (in-season tournament) schedule will be released on Thursday, and the full regular season schedule will be officially published at 3 a.m. on Friday.

This offseason has seen numerous major moves, and these storylines will inevitably influence the league's scheduling decisions, including which games are selected for Christmas Day and weekend prime-time national broadcasts.

The Philadelphia 76ers are sure to appear frequently on nationally televised games. The team traded for Jaylen Brown, signed James, and already had Maxey and Embiid on the roster. With this lineup, failing to make a deep playoff run would be disappointing.

The 76ers are likely to be featured in several high-profile matchups, including against Eastern Conference rivals—the defending champion New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, who parted ways with Brown.
