FC Mobile Vietnam steps onto the global stage for the first time: A chance for Vietnam to secure up to 4 slots at the inaugural World Championship

For the first time in FC Mobile history, Vietnam will take part in a worldwide international event. Two exceptional players from FC Mobile Vietnam will battle in the FC Pro Mobile Mid-Season Playoffs 2026, which brings together 24 elite players from more than 90 nations and regions, vying for a total prize of $100,000 and opportunities to qualify for the FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026.

Vietnam receives 2 wildcard slots at the first international FC Mobile tournament

The FC Pro Mobile Mid-Season Playoffs will take place from August 6 to August 9 in Bangkok (Thailand), marking a significant milestone as the EA SPORTS FC Mobile esports system organizes a global-scale tournament for the first time.

The tournament features 24 of the world's best players, selected through tournaments and qualifiers held across more than 90 countries and regions. However, in addition to the qualifying slots, EA also reserves some wildcard slots for markets with strong FC Mobile esports communities.

Among them, Vietnam is one of only three countries, along with China and South Korea, granted 2 direct slots to the Mid-Season Playoffs without needing to go through international qualifiers. This is seen as EA's recognition of the rapid growth of the FC Mobile Vietnam community and the quality of the domestic FVSL tournament system.

Vietnam's representatives at the tournament are Phạm Anh Tú (FPLxChanh) – Champion of FVSL Spring 2026 and Nguyễn Hoàng Bảo (GLOWxHoangBao) – Runner-up of FVSL Spring 2026. After proving themselves in the domestic arena, both will carry the hopes of the FC Mobile Vietnam community to face the strongest players from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.

Tough competition format, every point can decide the ticket to advance

Unlike many traditional head-to-head tournaments, the FC Pro Mobile Mid-Season Playoffs adopts a format that requires players to maintain consistency throughout the journey.

The 24 players will be divided into 4 groups of 6 people each, playing a single round-robin. Each match consists of 2 games (BO2) and each game is scored individually with the following rules: win gives 3 points, draw gives 1 point, loss gives 0 points. After the group stage, the top 2 players from each group will advance to the Playoffs stage.

From the Top 8, the tournament switches to a knockout format to find the first international champion in FC Pro Mobile history. This means that even a draw or a loss can directly affect a player's chances of advancing.

In addition to the total prize pool of $100,000, the most valuable reward of the Mid-Season Playoffs is 8 tickets to the FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026 – the first World Championship in FC Mobile history, scheduled to take place in Seoul (South Korea) in October with a total prize pool of up to $250,000.

For FC Mobile Vietnam, the Mid-Season Playoffs holds greater significance than a regular international tournament. Currently, Vietnam has been allocated 2 slots for the World Championship. If Anh Tú and Hoàng Bảo both make it into the Top 8, they will earn additional slots through their performance, thus helping Vietnam have a total of 4 representatives at the FC Pro Mobile World Championship 2026.

If that becomes reality, it will be a historic milestone for FC Mobile esports in Vietnam, while also affirming the position of the Vietnamese gaming community on the global FC Mobile map.
