Players are proposing a rework of Hecarim's abilities to bring back the concept of a spectral cavalryman that can dive into the enemy team and wreak havoc.
Hecarim was once one of the most iconic junglers of League of Legends. With high movement speed and strong engage potential, the "War Ghost" could exert great pressure whenever he accelerated into the enemy backline.
However, many players believe Hecarim currently has a very one-dimensional playstyle. Most of his power comes from abusing movement speed, stacking Rampage charges, and dealing damage continuously in teamfights.
This often puts Hecarim in an "all or nothing" state. When he gets an early advantage, he can quickly dominate the game. Conversely, if opponents slow down his development, Hecarim has almost no other options to make an impact.
Instead of a full rework, the community suggests Riot Games perform a mid-scale update for Hecarim. The most notable idea is to turn the current "Shadow of War" into a basic ability, with reduced range and fear duration to ensure balance.
This change would give Hecarim more tools for approaching, controlling, and organizing small skirmishes without relying entirely on his ultimate.
"Devastating Charge" is also suggested to gain the ability to remove slow effects upon activation. This mechanic would help Hecarim better deal with kiting teams but not make him completely immune to crowd control.
According to the community's idea, "Soul Embrace" would be upgraded into a new ultimate. When activated, Hecarim instantly gains three stacks of Rampage, receives damage reduction, increases omnivamp, and expands ability range for a short duration.
If he participates in a takedown, the duration of the enhanced state is extended. This could turn Hecarim into a true sweeping machine, fitting the image of a ghostly knight.
Although it is still just a player suggestion, the idea has received a lot of positive feedback. The community hopes that Riot Games can help Hecarim become less reliant on items and stats, while also offering more tactical options in the future.
