LCK 2026 Results Today 8/8: T1 Suffers Comeback Loss to HLE, Nongshim Stunned in Defeat

The match day on August 8 of the 2026 LCK season witnessed surprising outcomes. T1, though starting with overwhelming force, allowed Hanwha Life Esports to reverse the series 2-1, and Nongshim RedForce suffered a disappointing 0-2 defeat against DN SOOPers.

T1 1-2 HLE: A Dream Start, a Disappointing End

T1 entered the match with a notable change, as young talent Painter was placed in the jungle role instead of Oner. This was the first LCK match for the 18-year-old player in T1's main lineup.

This change initially brought unexpected effectiveness. In Game 1, T1 almost crushed HLE with a kill score of 19-2 after just 29 minutes and 25 seconds. Doran finished the game with a KDA of 5/0/7, Painter made an impressive debut with 5/0/8, and Faker recorded 4/0/11. T1 secured all four Dragons, Baron, and built a gold lead of over 17,000 before closing out the game.

However, everything turned around from Game 2. HLE played more solidly and dragged T1 into tight skirmishes. After 33 minutes and 55 seconds, HLE won with a kill score of 12-9, thus leveling the series at 1-1. Faker had 4 kills, but T1 only destroyed three towers, while HLE controlled the key moments better.

In Game 3, the momentum completely shifted to HLE. The team consisting of Zeus, Kanavi, Zeka, Gumayusi, and Delight continuously won team fights before finishing the match after 34 minutes and 54 seconds. HLE won the decisive game with a kill score of 28-13, completing a 2-1 comeback against T1.

The loss was even more regrettable for T1, as they had just secured two consecutive wins against Gen.G and Dplus KIA. On the other hand, HLE found a much-needed victory after a difficult stretch in the Legend Group.

Nongshim RedForce 0-2 DN SOOPers: A Shock in the Rise Group

In the match that followed, DN SOOPers created a major upset by defeating Nongshim RedForce 2-0. DNS won the first game after 35 minutes and 55 seconds with a kill score of 13-8. In the second game, they maintained control and finished the match after 30 minutes and 35 seconds, wrapping up a swift victory in just over an hour of play.

This was a disappointing result for Nongshim, as they were considered the favorites before the match and had shown decent form. Meanwhile, DN SOOPers delivered one of their most convincing performances in the Round 3-4 stage. Sharvel and Peter were among the DNS players praised after the match.

Thus, August 8 concluded with two notable results: HLE defeated T1 2-1, and DN SOOPers beat Nongshim RedForce 2-0. These results continue to make the competition in both the Legend Group and the Rise Group of the 2026 LCK even more unpredictable.
