He stated frankly that Meiko is a great player and a teammate he cherishes, and that every member of the team is important, hoping everyone can give more support.

Meiko's performance has declined, but there is little room for improvement

After TheShy spoke out, he received praise from the audience, who called him great. And this matter with Meiko really required TheShy to step up, because fans are more willing to listen to TheShy.

IG's earlier official statement effectively targeted the offline aspect. For example, if fans attack players offline or engage in inappropriate interactions, the club can collect evidence and impose penalties, such as banning fans from attending matches, which can still restrict fan behavior.

However, the online aspect is difficult for the club to control. With a huge number of fan comments, improving this situation requires TheShy to step in.

Then regarding Meiko's skill level, many fans are questioning it. As a veteran, Meiko's current performance is indeed far from his peak.

But in the current LPL region, it is indeed hard to find a better support option than Meiko.

Support resources are scarce, Meiko still has advantages

In my opinion, excellent supports are extremely scarce resources in the current LPL region.

Currently, the two strongest supports recognized in LPL are On and Kael. Other supports are not particularly outstanding, including Jwei, who performed well in previous seasons but has not shown any highlights after moving between multiple teams.

The starting supports of other teams are not particularly impressive, let alone finding a good support outside the LPL.

Among so many supports, Meiko at least has the advantage of being a veteran with richer experience. Moreover, there is still the possibility that Meiko can regain his form later.
