BLG's top lane starts Flandre! JDG signs new jungler, Top Esports sweeps weekly best with five players

The official has announced the Week 3 All-LPL Team, and all five players are from Top Esports, with Tian being the Player of the Week. It's unusual to see an entire team taking the slots. TOP's performance was outstanding last week, securing three 2-0 victories, including a crushing win over BLG.

However, Tian being named Player of the Week is somewhat controversial. Many viewers questioned on the official Weibo why it wasn't Zuian, as the top laner's performance was more consistent. In the first game against BLG, Tian's Vi play was indeed poor. According to the voting breakdown, the official representatives' votes had a higher proportion, with 4 out of 6 votes going to Tian. But the funniest part was Langx voting for TheShy.

BLG's top lane starter is Flandre

On the first match day of Week 4, both BLG and AL have games. Before the match, everyone was discussing who would start in the top lane for BLG, since Wenbo performed well last week. But after signing Flandre, they need to give him some playing time. The official starting lineup shows that in the BO3 against JDG, the top lane starter is Flandre. Starting right after signing, it seems that in BLG's offseason scrims, Flandre performed better than Wenbo.

JDG started slow but picked up, improving since Week 2. However, against BLG, they are still not favored. It's fine for BLG to field Flandre now. If they don't speed up the synergy during the regular season and wait until playoffs to bring him in, it might cause internal issues that are harder to resolve. It is said that Coach Daney thinks highly of Flandre, and under his guidance, Flandre should perform even better.

JDG signs new jungler Xiaofang

BLG's opponent JDG also recently underwent a roster change. JDG's official Weibo announced that jungler Xiaofang has officially joined the team. Signing a new jungler just as the team's form is improving suggests management wants to put pressure on JunJia. Xiaofang played for LNG last year and hasn't found a team since leaving. He hasn't played for most of this year, so his current form is unknown. Moreover, JDG did not start him immediately.

The reason JDG signed him is likely because they value his Lee Sin. Xiaofang's tank junglers are average, but his Lee Sin and Viego, which require more mechanical skill in teamfights, are quite proficient. In the current patch, Lee Sin is indeed meta. Occasionally swapping him in for a "kick" could bring unexpected results. If JunJia performs poorly in the match against BLG, he might get a chance.

CAPS Hall of Fame champion revealed

The third Hall of Fame inductee for League of Legends has been confirmed to be CAPS. Previously, a Brazilian leaker revealed that Caps' Hall of Fame skins would be Sylas and Yasuo. However, the recent PBE update for Summoner's Rift includes elements that not only hint at CAPS being the third inductee but also suggest that his Hall of Fame skin is Tristana. There is a Tristana statue in the top lane alcove.

Other foreign bloggers' data mining also confirmed this. Choosing Tristana is somewhat surprising; logically, Yasuo would sell better since the Hall of Fame is meant to generate revenue. However, Tristana holds sentimental value for Caps. He has played 34 games with her in his career, with a 22-12 record. His most glorious moment was at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational, where he picked Tristana three consecutive times and led his team to a 3-0 clean sweep over Top Esports.

Conclusion:

No wonder the designers mentioned in the last patch notes about nerfing AP bot lane and buffing AD junglers, allowing AD champions to appear in mid lane. Since they are selling the Hall of Fame skin, Tristana indeed needs a buff. She is average in the bot lane but quite dominant in mid and top lanes. The designers' intentions are clear with this patch.

So, do you think JDG can beat BLG?
