Xuân Son expressed his excitement about reuniting with Đỗ Hoàng Hên in the Vietnam national team.

At Chi Lang Stadium on the evening of March 18th, Blue Steel Nam Định Club defeated the home team Đà Nẵng with a score of 2-1 to secure a spot in the semifinals of the 2025/26 National Cup. Notably, the away team's victory also bore the mark of forward Nguyễn Xuân Son, as he scored the opening goal of the match in the 28th minute.

After the match, when asked about reuniting with Đỗ Hoàng Hên in the Vietnam national team, Xuân Son affirmed:“Everyone knows that I and Hoàng Hên have played together at the club, so we understand each other very well. Our coordination and synergy are also excellent.

However, at this moment, the most important thing is to contribute to the Vietnam national team. We want to fight for the flag and jersey, for national pride, and also for the fans who have always cheered and encouraged us. Therefore, like many other players, I am very eager to join the Vietnam national team,” Xuân Son further emphasized.

On his part, coach Vũ Hồng Việt also praised the naturalized forward of the Vietnam national team. He stated: "Xuân Son still being able to score in such circumstances is a very positive sign,” Vũ Hồng Việt stressed.

After this match, Xuân Son and Văn Vĩ will join the Vietnam national team to prepare for two matches: against Bangladesh (friendly, March 26th) and against the Malaysia national team on March 31st at Thiên Trường Stadium.
