Vietnamese overseas midfielder Moric impressed by Dinh Bac and Cao Van Binh after watching Vietnam U23 at AFC U23 Championship.
On the afternoon of March 19th, before Vietnam U23's training session for the CFA Team China – Xi'an 2026 International Football Tournament, overseas player Antonio Moric shared notable comments with the media. This is his first inclusion in the national team squad, so the young forward expressed many special feelings about his new journey, the integration process, and future development goals.
Moric stated that he watched Vietnam U23 compete at the recent AFC U23 Championship and was left with many positive impressions. Particularly, the victory over South Korea U23 in the penalty shootout made him feel proud. In that match, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh drew attention with a crucial save, while forward Nguyen Dinh Bac was highly praised by Moric for his dynamism and outstanding professional skills.
Given the opportunity by the Vietnam Football Federation to try his skills in the national youth team colors, Moric couldn't hide his joy and pride. The player of Vietnamese-Croatian descent affirmed he is putting maximum effort into adapting to the new environment, especially in absorbing tactical requirements from the coaching staff. He said he always strives to understand instructions and perform the assigned training tasks to the best of his ability.
Speaking about the integration process, Moric highly praised the friendliness and openness of his teammates in Vietnam U23. He feels the team environment is quite familiar, and he noted that the team's playing style is not too different from what he has experienced before, helping him quickly adapt.
Antonio Moric, born in 2008 in Hanoi, has a Vietnamese mother and a Croatian father. He has returned to his homeland multiple times to participate in football summer camps and currently plays for NK Trnje in the Croatian Second League. With good physical attributes and stable personal technique, Moric can play flexibly in the forward line, from center forward to winger.
Being promoted from Vietnam U19 to Vietnam U23 in this training camp is seen as an important step for Moric. This is not only an opportunity for the coaching staff to test and evaluate his abilities but also opens up prospects for this young player to contribute long-term to Vietnam's national teams in the future.
