All quarter-final matchups UEFA Europa League 2025/26 season were officially confirmed after the second leg of the round of 16 concluded early on March 20 (Vietnam time).
The final four teams advancing are Aston Villa, Bologna, Real Betis, and Porto, following dramatic performances.
After a slump in Premier League form, Aston Villa rediscovered winning joy by defeating Lille 1-0 in the second leg, securing a 2-0 aggregate victory. John McGinn opened the scoring in the second half, before Leon Bailey sealed the win late, sending the English side through.
The Italian showdown between Bologna and AS Roma was intensely dramatic. Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, the two sides engaged in a gripping score chase in the second leg. Bologna led thanks to goals from Rowe and Federico Bernardeschi, but Roma continuously responded. The match extended into extra time, where Cambiaghi scored the decisive goal in the 111th minute, giving Bologna a 5-4 aggregate win.
Real Betis executed a remarkable turnaround after a 0-1 first-leg loss. Under manager Manuel Pellegrini, the team secured a resounding 4-0 home victory, advancing with a 4-1 aggregate score. Aitor Ruibal, Sofyan Amrabat, Cucho Hernandez, and Antony scored consecutively, allowing the Spanish side to continue their journey in the competition.
Porto achieved a 2-0 victory over Stuttgart, concluding the round of 16 with a 4-1 aggregate score. Goalkeeper Diogo Costa performed excellently with several crucial saves, while William Gomes and Froholdt were the scorers. Stuttgart faced further difficulty when Nartey was sent off.

Notably, Betis, Celta Vigo, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa will play the second leg at home.
In the semifinals, the winner of Braga vs Betis will face the winner of Freiburg vs Celta. The other side features the matchup between Porto/Nottingham Forest and Bologna/Aston Villa.
The two semifinal legs are scheduled for April 30 and May 7, before the final is held on May 20 at Vodafone Park (Istanbul, Turkey).
