The AFC officially confirms and welcomes the Vietnam national team to the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) posted an article confirming that the Vietnam national team is the next team to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.

The Vietnam national team has officially secured its third consecutive appearance in the Asian Cup Finals. after being awarded a 3-0 win over Malaysia. Specifically, coach Kim Sang Sik's team earned a full 15 points from the first five matches to lead Group F. In the final match, Vietnam will host Malaysia without needing to worry about the result.

Recently on X, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) posted an article welcoming Vietnam to the tournament: "Vietnam officially qualifies for the 2027 Asian Cup Finals in Saudi Arabia," the page wrote.

Earlier, when Vietnam was awarded a win over Malaysia to officially secure a spot in the tournament finals, the AFC homepage described it as "a spectacular leap"by the red-shirted team.

The 2027 Asian Cup Finals will mark the sixth time the Vietnam national team participates. In the 2019 edition, the red-shirted team excellently reached the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, in the 2023 edition, the team stopped at the group stage.

According to the schedule, in the final match held on March 31, 2026, at Thien Truong Stadium (Ninh Binh), the Vietnam national team will host Malaysia. Although it no longer determines the final ranking, the match is still expected to be a noteworthy contest, meaningful for accumulating points on the FIFA rankings, maintaining form, and preparing for the journey at the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.
