The 1.95-meter tall defender Dinh Quang Kiet draws notice for being prepared to move up and play as a forward in Vietnam's U23 jersey.

Young defender of Vietnam's U23 team, Dinh Quang Kiet. is becoming a name that attracts much attention due to his outstanding physique and versatile playing style. Possessing a height of up to 1.95 meters, the 2007-born player provides a clear advantage in contested situations, especially aerial duels.

Currently under contract with HAGL Club, Quang Kiet has early shown development potential by not only fulfilling defensive duties well but also contributing to the offensive front. Speaking about his strengths, he candidly stated: “I am quite confident in aerial challenges and not afraid of physical contact in matches. Of course, my agility will be limited. That is a weakness I need to improve a lot to become more complete.”.

Not limited to the defender role, Quang Kiet also shows flexibility in how the coaching staff utilizes him. With his ideal physique, he is often pushed forward during crucial moments, especially when the team needs to capitalize on set-piece situations or aerial plays.

This player himself also revealed his ability to “fill in” on the attacking line: “At the club, when needed, I can still move up to play as a forward to participate in heading situations or set plays. Wherever the coach needs me, I can play there.”. This makes Quang Kiet a versatile player model, suitable for modern football.

During this training camp, Vietnam's U23 team will participate in the international friendly tournament CFA Team China Cup 2026 in China, where they will face many formidable opponents. Ahead of the upcoming challenge, the young defender maintains necessary confidence: “The opponents are all very strong. But the whole team is always ready, teammates support and communicate with each other on the field, which helps us play more comfortably.”

Looking toward the future, Quang Kiet sets clear personal goals to maintain stable performance to continue being included in subsequent training camps. For him, the destination is not only securing his position in Vietnam's U23 team but also the opportunity to participate in ASIAD in September – a major stage for young players to prove their capabilities.
