Vietnamese U23 captain makes surprising statement about Xuân Son - Hoàng Hên

Midfielder Khuất Văn Khang asserts that no player in the Vietnamese national team is guaranteed a starting spot, including Xuân Son and Hoàng Hên.

On March 23rd afternoon, the Vietnamese national team continued training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, actively preparing for the friendly match against Bangladesh (March 26th) before facing Malaysia again in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying round.

Before the friendly match against the Bangladesh national team, midfielder Khuất Văn Khang emphasized that the environment in the Vietnamese national team is always competitive, with no privileges for any individual – whether it's Xuân Son or Hoàng Hên.

Xuân Son or Hoàng Hên are also no exceptions in the Vietnamese national team

Regarding the inclusion of two naturalized players in this March training camp, Khang said they are valuable additions, bringing new energy to the team. However, he also affirmed: once in the national team, everyone must strive and compete fairly. He himself is no exception, always working hard every day to prove himself and earn playing opportunities.

Speaking to media before training, midfielder Khuất Văn Khang said the whole team maintains a very positive spirit following recent encouraging signs, especially the team's improved ranking on the FIFA table. He sees this as a major motivation for the team to continue striving, but also stressed that the most important goal is achieving good results in each match.

He affirmed the whole team will give their utmost effort to prepare best for the subsequent match against Malaysia. Additionally, the young midfielder expressed hope for fan support at Hàng Đẫy Stadium, as the national team has not played in Hanoi for a long time.
