Video: Hoàng Hên and the Vietnam National Team receive a major morale boost ahead of the match against Malaysia

On the afternoon of March 23, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, VFF Chairman Trần Quốc Tuấn and Vice Chairman Trần Anh Tú held a meeting to encourage the Vietnam National Team, who are training for two matches during the FIFA Days in March 2026.

At the meeting, Chairman Trần Quốc Tuấn acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the players during their recent performances in the V-League, which has created a positive professional foundation for the team in this training camp. Representing the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Board, Chairman Trần Quốc Tuấn congratulated the Vietnam National Team for officially securing qualification to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup Finals, after the Asian Football Confederation issued its final decision regarding the violations of the Malaysian team in Group F.

Immediately ahead for the team are two matches during FIFA Days, including a friendly against Bangladesh and the crucial match against Malaysia in the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup. Chairman Trần Quốc Tuấn emphasized that these matches are not only of professional significance but also directly impact the goal of reaching the top 100 in the FIFA rankings, requiring the entire team to maintain high concentration and maximize their individual capabilities.

This training camp also noted the participation of several notable figures, including naturalized players like Xuân Son and Hoàng Hên – individuals who have spent a long time playing in Vietnam and have demonstrated a strong desire to contribute to the National Team. VFF leadership expressed expectations that the current squad will help strengthen the team's power, while also creating effective succession between generations, aiming to maintain its position in Southeast Asia and continue to assert itself on the Asian stage.
