On March 24th, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the online draw ceremony for scheduling the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship took place, attended by representatives from VFF, the tournament organizing committee, and club delegates.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau – Deputy General Secretary of VFF, co-head of the tournament organizing committee, emphasized the important role of the competition within the national competition system, while affirming that this is a meaningful platform for futsal clubs to exchange, compete, and enhance their professional skills.
This year's tournament continues to feature eight teams: Hanoi, Luxury Ha Long, Sahako, Ho Chi Minh City Youth, Saigon Titans, Thai Son Bac, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City, and Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City. The teams compete in a double round-robin format (home and away matches) to calculate points for the final standings.
A notable aspect of this season is its close connection with the international competition system, following AFC's decision to relaunch the club-level tournament. Accordingly, the champion will represent Vietnam in the AFC Asian Futsal Club Championship for the 2027 season, while the runner-up will participate in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Club Championship futsal 2027. Participating teams must fully meet AFC/AFF criteria; if conditions are not met, VFF will consider selecting the next eligible team. The regulations also stipulate that if AFC/AFF requires determining participation slots before the 2026 season concludes, the selection will be based on the final standings of the 2025 season.
According to the plan, the first round will take place from May 9th to June 10th, 2026, while the second round will be organized from June 21st to July 25th, 2026. Matches will be held at two main venues: the Chánh Hưng Ward Futsal Arena (Ho Chi Minh City) and the Cầu Giấy Arena (Hanoi).
With active preparations from the clubs, the competition in the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship promises to be lively and exciting, continuing to affirm its position as the pinnacle platform for Vietnamese futsal, while also laying the groundwork for international objectives in the coming period.
