Transfermarkt updates Serie A valuations: Still no €100 million player, Lautaro ranks first, Manchester United discard ranks sixth.

Transfermarkt updated Serie A player valuations on March 24th. Serie A remains the only major league among Europe's top five without a €100 million player. Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, unchanged at €85 million, still ranks first. Bastoni, Pulisic, Thuram, and Barella each dropped by €10 million. Manchester United discard Højlund increased by €5 million, tying for sixth place in Serie A.

Top 10 Serie A player valuations:

  • First: Lautaro Martinez / Inter Milan, €85 million (unchanged).
  • Second: Yıldız / Juventus, €75 million (unchanged).
  • Third: Bastoni / Inter Milan, €70 million (-€10 million).
  • Fourth: Paš / Como, €65 million (unchanged).
  • Joint Fourth: Leão / AC Milan, €65 million (-€5 million).
  • Sixth: Pulisic / AC Milan, €50 million (-€10 million).
  • Joint Sixth: Højlund / Napoli, €50 million (+€5 million).
  • Joint Sixth: Marcus Thuram / Inter Milan, €50 million (-€10 million).
  • Joint Sixth: Barella / Inter Milan, €50 million (-€10 million).
  • Joint Sixth: Dimarco / Inter Milan, €50 million (unchanged).

Among the top ten valued Serie A players, only Højlund saw an increase. The other nine either remained unchanged or declined, indicating Serie A's current low standing among Europe's top leagues. It lacks genuine superstar players and struggles with player development. Serie A has arguably become a retirement home for veterans and a rehabilitation center for Premier League underperformers seeking form.
