Barcelona: The Grand Stage awaits Garcia

Called up to the Spanish national team for the first time in his career, leaving the pitch due to injury in the Champions League win against Newcastle, but returning over the weekend in the La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano, immediately winning the Player of the Match award, Joan Garcia just had a week full of highlights.

"They (Barca) have so many strengths that you have to plan your attack very aggressively. I am satisfied with our attacking play, and it's unfortunate that Joan has signed with Barcelona," Vallecano coach Inigo Perez commented on the role of the 25-year-old goalkeeper.

In the match against Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona were exhausted after the Newcastle win, lacked sharpness, and couldn't control possession, with Bernal and Fermin being substituted and Pedri also weakening. Lamine Yamal couldn't contain Chavarria either. The champions couldn't escape their own half, were pressured deep by the opponent, but the visitors' danger only reached the goal's threshold because of Joan Garcia, who consistently outperformed the opposition's shooters.
