The Vietnamese national team conducted light training to recover physically following the win against Bangladesh, preparing for the upcoming match against Malaysia.
After the 3-0 victory over Bangladesh, the Vietnamese national team quickly resumed training to prepare for the important upcoming match. However, instead of intensive training, the coaching staff arranged a lighter regimen to ensure physical condition recovery after consecutive days of matches.
On March 27th at 10:00 AM, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team were at the VFF Youth Training Center for a recovery session. This is a routine activity after each match to help players alleviate physical strain and reduce injury risks.
According to the plan, the main players from the victory against Bangladesh primarily performed light exercises such as jogging and stretching. Meanwhile, players who did not play or had limited playing time were required to train with higher intensity to maintain ball feel and fitness.
Notably, the coaching staff also decided to give the entire team a rest from training in the afternoon of the same day. This is considered a reasonable move given that the players have just endured a dense match schedule and need recovery time to reach optimal condition.
Sharing after the match, Coach Kim Sang Sik stated: "The players have just gone through a dense match schedule, so fatigue is unavoidable. We made several positional changes to help them maintain their condition and achieve peak performance for the match against Malaysia."
The Korean coach also revealed more about the team's situation: "We will further check the players' condition, including Xuan Son's weight. Recently, he suffered an injury, so his mobility isn't fully optimal yet. However, he is a player we highly anticipate for the upcoming match." After two more training sessions in Hanoi, the Vietnamese national team will move to Ninh Binh to complete preparations for the match against Malaysia on March 31st.
