Malaysian media expressed concern when Vietnam decisively defeated Bangladesh.

Observing Vietnam overwhelm Bangladesh rapidly, Malaysian media claimed this serves as a direct warning to coach Peter Cklamovski's squad ahead of the crucial battle at Thiên Trường.

The friendly match between Vietnam and Bangladesh on March 26th ended with a 3-0 victory for coach Kim Sang-sik's team. However, according to the assessment by the television channel Astro Arena, this result did not fully reflect the true strength of the "Golden Star Warriors".

This newspaper commented: "The match against the weaker opponent Bangladesh was almost nothing more than a rehearsal, as they decided the game early within the first 20 minutes."

What worries Malaysians most is that Coach Kim Sang-sik is still "keeping his cards hidden". The Korean strategist conducted numerous personnel experiments, such as versatile newcomer Đỗ Hoàng Hên, or keeping key players like Nguyễn Xuân Son, Đoàn Văn Hậu on the bench and only deploying them when the situation was settled.

Astro Arena added: "He might reserve many surprises and the real strength of the Vietnam team for the more important match, hosting Malaysia at Thiên Trường Stadium."

Malaysian media particularly fears the diversity and depth of Vietnam's current squad. The presence of quality naturalized and overseas Vietnamese players like Nguyễn Filip, Đặng Văn Lâm, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, and most recently Hoàng Hên is turning Vietnam into a formidable force.

"With a Vietnam team that is increasingly diverse and gaining more strength... this is an early warning for coach Cklamovski and his players. This challenge might be too great," the Malaysian newspaper emphasized.

The Vietnam team quickly finished off opponent Bangladesh within the first 30 minutes of the match

Although Vietnam has officially secured a spot in the 2027 Asian Cup Finals, the desire for "revenge" after the 0-4 defeat at Bukit Jalil last year is boosting the home players' morale higher than ever.

While Vietnam is having a roaring warm-up, the Malaysian team chose a discreet preparation approach. "The Malayan Tigers" are training in Thailand and not organizing any international friendly matches before coming to Vietnam. As planned, coach Cklamovski's team will only arrive in Ninh Bình two days before the match.

Despite Malaysia facing difficulties with 7 players suspended by FIFA due to documentation issues, coach Cklamovski still intends to field the strongest available lineup. Their goal is nothing other than stopping the momentum of their traditional rival.

Malaysian media is particularly concerned about the strength from naturalized players like Hoàng Hên or Xuân Son

However, with the current brilliant form of the home team, the Astro Arena admitted: "Vietnam is expected to convincingly defeat the national team to end the qualifying campaign with impressive results."

The spotlight match between Vietnam and Malaysia will take place at 19:00 on March 31st at Thiên Trường Stadium. This promises to be a fiery showdown, where regional football identity is affirmed ahead of the continental arena.
