Coach Nguyen Hong Pham and forward Huỳnh Như set high goals ahead of the AFC Women's Champions League 25/26 quarter-final match.
On the afternoon of March 27, at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane, Laos, head coach Nguyen Hong Pham and forward Huỳnh Như (number 9) of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club attended the pre-match press conference for the AFC Women's Champions League 25/26 quarter-final.
In the eight-team round, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club faces Naegohyang Club – a strong team with many national team players from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Regarding their preparation, Coach Nguyen Hong Pham expressed determination when discussing the opponent from North Korea: "This is a match with no possibility of a draw, so the team will strive to secure a spot in the Semi-finals."
Meanwhile, the team captain forward Huỳnh Như also revealed high aspirations when asked about this year's tournament goals: "Last season, we also reached the semi-finals. This season, we have set the same goal and aim to go even further."
Previously in the group stage, Coach Hong Pham's team successively defeated Stallion Laguna and Lion City Sailors before stopping against Melbourne City, thus securing second place in the group and advancing. This marks their second consecutive year in the knockout stage, affirming their top regional status.
The quarter-final match between the two teams will take place at 15:00 on March 28 at the Laos National Stadium.
