Malaysian national team head coach Peter Cklamovski has for the first time spoken about his future, as his current contract with Malaysian football is set to expire at the end of this year.
After prolonged speculation over many months, the Australian strategist admitted that he might not be the one making the final decision on whether to continue with the Malaysian national team.
“Sometimes it is not my decision either,” Cklamovskishared. “I love this country, my job, and working with the players and coaching staff. But I must focus on what I can control.”
This is the first time the 1978-born coach publicly acknowledged that his future depends on a decision from Malaysian football leadership, despite his continued commitment and belief in the team's long-term direction.
According to Malaysian media, Coach Cklamovski has received some offers from clubs in Japan and China, but he has not made any decision yet and is awaiting action from the Malaysian Football Association.
Although his future remains open, the Australian coach affirmed that he remains fully focused on his current work, especially the match against the Vietnamese national teamin the Asian Cup qualifiers.
In reality, after Malaysia was eliminated from the race, the team is facing considerable pressure, especially as its FIFA ranking has dropped from 121 to 135 worldwide. However, Cklamovski believes that what he cares most about is the quality of performance and the progress in the team's playing style, rather than just looking at the FIFA ranking.
