Before the match, acting coach Dinh Hong Vinh shared: "Thailand U23 is an experienced collective, with many players who have competed internationally, participated in SEA Games 33 and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship. They possess technical play, good physical fitness, and thorough preparation.
Many of their players are competing in professional leagues, so their ability to handle situations and withstand pressure is very good.
The important thing is that the whole team must focus, play with the highest determination, and follow the game plan. Our goal is to win. Although the squad is young and the opponent is very strong, the whole team will enter the field with the highest spirit. Three points are what we aim for to gain an advantage in the race for the next round."
After the first round, all four teams including Vietnam U23, Thailand U23, China U23, and North Korea U23 have 1 point. However, China U23 and Thailand U23 are temporarily ranked higher due to better secondary criteria.
