On the afternoon of March 28, the Vietnam national team continued training in Hanoi to prepare for the highly anticipated match against the Malaysia national team on March 31.
However, during this training session, Coach Kim Sang Sik received some rather unfavorable news as midfielder Khuat Van Khang was absent due to an ankle injury. Previously, during the morning training session on March 27, the midfielder from The Cong Viettel had encountered ankle issues and could not complete the training program with the whole team. The young player having to train separately is clearly a certain loss for the Vietnam national team during this crucial preparation phase.
Nevertheless, the brightest highlight of the training session came from striker Nguyen Xuan Son. Sharing before the training session, the naturalized striker confirmed he has fully recovered and is ready to play if given the opportunity in the match against Malaysia:
"Before the match against Bangladesh, I felt some issues with my leg, but now everything is much better. There is nothing too concerning for the upcoming match; I have fully recovered and am ready for the next match (against Malaysia)," Xuan Son shared.
Not only showing a positive physical condition, the striker born in 1997 also displayed excitement about preparing to join teammate Hoang Hen on the frontline of the Vietnam national team.
"Although we are no longer teammates at Nam Dinh, I and Hoang Hen have played together for a long time; we understand each other, so there is nothing too difficult at the moment," Xuan Son affirmed.
In the match against the Malaysia national team, Xuan Son hopes that Nam Dinh football fans specifically and Vietnamese fans in general will be present at Thien Truong Stadium to boost the team's morale. Notably, Xuan Son also wishes to secure a victory against Malaysia as a gift for himself on his 29th birthday (March 30).
Returning to the training session, aside from Van Khang's case, the Vietnam national team essentially has a full squad. The whole team focused on implementing tactical drills according to Coach Kim Sang Sik's training plan, with determination to achieve the best result against Malaysia at home.
