Manchester United's appointment of Carrick as permanent manager appears almost inevitable! The dressing room supports Beckham and Giggs backing him, two advantages attract.

Manchester United's first-team players widely endorse Carrick becoming the permanent manager this summer. Under his leadership, the Red Devils have recorded 7 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss in 10 games, now sitting third in the Premier League, with Champions League qualification for next season seemingly within reach.

During Ruben Amorim's spell, Manchester United had fluctuating performances, and Darren Fletcher did not secure a win during his interim stint, but Carrick has altered the team's trajectory. The British "Sun" reports that this has impressed senior members of the United dressing room, who advocate for the club to appoint Carrick permanently.

It is said that captain Bruno Fernandes, vice-captain Harry Maguire, and longest-serving player Luke Shaw among others have expressed confidence in Carrick, appreciating his tactical ideas and football knowledge. Therefore, if this 44-year-old club legend does not receive a contract extension, players might feel dissatisfied, as they highly approve of Carrick's management.

A source told "The Sun": "Michael (Carrick) has brought a breath of fresh air, and he has done an excellent job. Some players anticipated this earlier; playing under Amorim was like chess, requiring strict adherence to rules, while Michael allows them to express themselves. Moreover, he understands players from other leagues, clearly spending considerable time observing and contemplating football. Players know the managerial decision isn't theirs, but if Michael is appointed permanently, most would be very pleased."

Some Manchester United legends, such as Roy Keane and Gary Neville, are skeptical about Carrick's long-term coaching prospects, believing a more experienced top manager should be chosen. However, many of Carrick's former teammates and other legends support him, including Beckham, Giggs, and Juan Mata.

Beckham, who serves as president of MLS club Inter Miami, did not work with Carrick at Manchester United but publicly backs him: "I've always liked Michael as a coach; you see him and see calmness. He understands players and knows how United should play. As a United fan, that's what we need."

Giggs said: "Michael is a good friend of mine, I might be biased, but I think he's done a great job. The confidence of United players has improved, and the overall team atmosphere is very good. I believe he has raised the players' level in a short time. Yes, I'm really impressed, but not surprised, because I know Michael well, both as a player and now as a coach. So, I hope he gets the job."

Explaining why he supports Carrick, Giggs stated: "I mean, I think United fans are now looking forward to every match, and more importantly, based on my experience as a player, at this stage of the season, you definitely want to strive for good results. A few months ago, that might not have been the case. Although he certainly cannot win trophies now, he is pushing for Champions League qualification; we don't want another season without European competition like this year. United wants to return to the Champions League and face the best teams."

Mata told "talkSPORT": "Michael is very capable, he's a smart guy, I quite like him. As a teammate he was great, always helpful, never seeking spotlight, but speaking through his football skills. He has always been important to the team, always finding passing opportunities, especially for players like me making runs."

Carrick is currently the favorite in the betting odds for next season's Manchester United manager, at odds of 1/1, mainly because there seem to be no other top managers interested. The second-ranked candidates are Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner and former England national team manager Gareth Southgate (5/1). It is well known that Crystal Palace has recently been struggling, Glasner's three-at-the-back system has lost its shine, and Southgate has clearly stated he does not intend to return to coaching.

Many predict that Carrick's permanent appointment is unavoidable. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed: "Carrick has become the leading candidate for the permanent manager role at Manchester United, and he has close relations with the club's management."

It is reported that besides results, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS management team appreciates two major advantages of Carrick. Ratcliffe likes that Carrick's wages are low; his half-season salary is £1.7 million, and if appointed permanently, his annual salary could be under £4 million. Club CEO Omar Berrada and football director Jason Wilcox appreciate his low-profile and compliant nature, not making excessive demands in transfers.
