HOT: Chelsea makes disciplinary decision regarding 121 million Euro star

Chelsea has excluded Enzo Fernandez from the playing roster prior to the FA Cup encounter with Port Vale, after the Argentine midfielder stirred controversy with remarks about possibly leaving the club for Real Madrid.

Coach Liam Rosenior confirmed that Enzo Fernandez will not be available for this weekend's match, also admitting his player had "crossed a line" by repeatedly hinting about his future. This is a notable decision as Fernandez has been a key pillar in the midfield of the London-based team.

The Argentine star joined Chelsea for a record fee of 121 million Euro after the 2022 World Cup and quickly became a crucial figure. However, recently, he refused to commit to a long-term future and acknowledged he would reconsider his career after this summer's World Cup.

Not only that, Fernandez openly expressed his admiration for Real Madrid and life in Spain: "I want to live in Spain. I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires. Players can live where they wish. I will live in Madrid. I'm fine with English, but it would be more comfortable to use Spanish."

In response to these statements, Coach Rosenior had to impose an internal penalty. He stated: "I have spoken with Enzo. As part of the club, he will not be involved in tomorrow's match or the game against Manchester City. It is disappointing to hear such things. Personally, I have no complaints about him, but a boundary was crossed. We had to take action."

According to The Mirror, Fernandez's comments also displeased some teammates in Chelsea's dressing room. The team is experiencing a difficult period with four consecutive losses, significantly impacting their chances of competing for a Champions League spot.

Real Madrid has long been a dream destination for many South American players, and currently the club also boasts several Brazilian stars like Vinicius Jr. Nevertheless, Chelsea does not want to lose Fernandez, who forms an impressive midfield partnership with Moises Caicedo.

Previously, Coach Rosenior had defended his player, asserting they had a positive discussion. He shared: "I had a very lengthy conversation with Enzo this morning. He made it very clear that he is happy here. Sometimes during translation, things can be misunderstood. He is fully committed to the club."
