Chelsea showcased overwhelming superiority by burying Port Vale with a 7-0 score, thereby continuing their run of seven straight FA Cup semifinal participations following the defeat to Everton in 2016.
After making a strong impression by eliminating Sunderland—a Premier League representative—to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since the 1953/54 season, Port Vale knew they faced a monumental challenge against the reigning world champions.
The two teams waited 97 years for a reunion, but before the home fans could settle into their seats, "The Blues" had already taken the lead. From a chaotic corner situation, Jorrel Hato unleashed a powerful shot that bounced off the ground and flew past goalkeeper Joe Gauci's reach.

Chelsea defeats Port Vale 7-0, advances to FA Cup semifinals
The opening goal also marked Chelsea's 49th consecutive home match scoring against lower-tier teams in the FA Cup. After about 20 minutes of unremarkable play, Liam Rosenior's squad doubled the lead. Pedro Neto cleverly escaped pressing before crossing for João Pedro to finish coolly, scoring his eighth FA Cup goal in just eight appearances.
The one-sided match continued as the home team added a third goal before halftime. A smooth one-two combination between Malo Gusto and João Pedro tore through the opponent's defense, allowing Gusto to fire a low shot. The rebound fell to Cole Palmer, and in an attempt to block, Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel inadvertently sent the ball into his own net.
After the break, the situation didn't change much. Estevao soon hit the post with a one-touch finish. Although Port Vale showed more resilience in the second half, they conceded a fourth goal in the 57th minute when Tosin Adarabioyo powerfully headed in from Gusto's cross, leaving Gauci no chance to save.
Estevao continued to be unlucky by hitting the post again, but he still made an impact with a corner that helped Andrey Santos head home from close range to make it 5-0. The young Brazilian star later added his own name to the scoresheet by rushing in to successfully finish after Alejandro Garnacho's shot hit the frame.
Garnacho himself concluded the demolition by earning a penalty following Tyler Magloire's foul, before successfully converting it himself, sealing Chelsea's 7-0 victory.
This result means Chelsea have won all 38 cup matches against lower-tier opponents since the 2015/16 season, securing a place in the Wembley semifinals after a match that was, as predicted, smooth and dominant.
