Nguyen Dinh Bac exploded with a double after over 500 days of drought in V-League, relieving pressure and affirming his determination to return strongly in the championship race with the club.
After a long period submerged in pressure due to scoring form, Nguyen Dinh Bac made a comeback that couldn't be more impressive by scoring a double, contributing greatly to help Hanoi Police defeat Da Nang 5-1 in round 17 of V-League 2025/26.
These two goals hold special significance as they helped the striker born in 2004 end a streak of over 500 days of "drought" at Vietnam's highest football arena. His last goal in V-League was over a year ago, and since then has been a challenging period for this young, promising player.
Sharing after the match, Dinh Bac could not hide his overwhelming emotions: “My emotions right now are very happy. I sincerely thank my teammates and coaching staff for their support from training sessions to matches. Only today have I gotten my first two goals in V-League this season, and I dedicate this victory to Hanoi Police fans.”
Not only relieving personal pressure, this double also helped Dinh Bac regain confidence after a period of unstable form at club level, even though he previously performed quite prominently in the national team and U23 Vietnam colors. The difference in form between club and national team had caused this striker to face many doubts, but his recent performance has partly dispelled those suspicions.
Besides, Dinh Bac also candidly spoke about competition in the forward line, especially with foreign players: “In V-League I get to play quite a lot, almost regularly as a starter. But everyone wants to perform to earn opportunities. When on the field, all strive to bring the best results for the team. I will also strive more to gain the coach's trust.”
Even though Hanoi Police holds a big advantage in the championship race, the young striker remains sober: “The season still has many matches ahead, we need to focus on each one. Football is always unpredictable, so the whole team must maintain top form and concentration.”
The double against Da Nang not only helped Dinh Bac "break the curse," but could also become a crucial turning point, opening an explosive phase for him in the remainder of the season.
