Vietnamese youth team finalizes two friendly matches with Russia U19

As part of the youth development plan and building a reserve force for the national futsal team, the Vietnam U19 futsal team is facilitated by VFF to concentrate and train for the first session in 2026.

The training session takes place from April 6 to April 14, 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, highlighted by two international friendly matches against the Russia U19 futsal team on April 11 and April 13. This is an important opportunity for young players to compete against quality opponents, accumulate international match experience, train psychologically, and enhance adaptability. Through these matches, the coaching staff also gains more basis to evaluate players' capabilities, adjust training programs, aiming to build a deep youth futsal force to meet the reserve requirements for the national team.

The Vietnam U19 futsal team is led by head coach Nguyen Bao Trung, assisted by experienced former players including Nguyen Duc Duy, Danh Phat, and Khong Dinh Hung.

Maintaining training and organizing international friendly matches continues to affirm the consistent direction of VFF in youth futsal development, focusing on creating a practical competition environment, from domestic tournaments to international exposure, to enhance the quality of human resources for Vietnamese futsal in the coming period.
