On the opening day of the Southeast Asian Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese futsal team secured a 4-0 victory over Myanmar.
Scorers: Gia Hưng (12’), Đa Hải (21’, 23’), Thạc Hiếu (29’)
Immediately after the starting whistle, the Vietnamese futsal team proactively pushed their formation forward, continuously applying pressure on the opponent's goal. Opportunities were successively created by Từ Minh Quang, Thịnh Phát, and Mạnh Dũng, but a goal did not come in the early minutes.
In the 7th minute, Công Đại had a very good chance facing goalkeeper Nyi Nyi Thant, but could not capitalize. Shortly after, shots by Nguyễn Đa Hải and Thái Huy also lacked the precision to convert into goals.
After numerous efforts, the Vietnamese futsal team opened the scoring in the 12th minute. From an effectively organized attack, Thái Huy made a determined effort before setting up Nhan Gia Hưng for an easy finish, putting the home team ahead 1-0.
After conceding, Myanmar had to push forward to seek an equalizer, but their attacking approaches were not sharp enough to trouble Vietnam's defense. The first half ended with a 1-0 advantage for coach Diego Giustozzi and his team.
Entering the second half, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to dominate and soon doubled their lead in the 21st minute. From a well-coordinated play, Nguyễn Đa Hải finished cleverly, raising the score to 2-0. Just one minute later, this player completed a brace with an easy goal, putting Vietnam ahead 3-0.
Relieved of pressure with a 3-0 lead, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to control the match. In the 29th minute, Nguyễn Thạc Hiếu executed a technical move to bypass an opponent before finishing with class, increasing the score to 4-0.
In the end, the Vietnamese futsal team achieved a 4-0 victory over Myanmar, thus securing a favorable start in the tournament. In the next match, coach Diego Giustozzi will face Timor-Leste, before entering the match considered decisive for the top spot in the group against host Thailand.
