Upon arriving in Thailand, assistant coach Kim Sang Sik was honored as a legend.

Upon joining Thai League, coach Lee Jung-soo was hailed as a "legend" by his new club, while tasked with rescuing the team from relegation battle.

Immediately upon arriving at Thai League, former assistant coach Kim Sang-sik Lee Jung-soo quickly received special attention. In the announcement of his appointment, Kanchanaburi Power Club did not hesitate to call the Korean strategist a "legend," showing great expectations for the new captain amid the team's perilous situation.

After more than a year working in Vietnamese football, Lee Jung-soo decided to end his assistant role and embark on a new chapter in his coaching career. Accepting the leadership of Kanchanaburi Power marks his first time taking the head coach position at club level, where he will directly be responsible for tactics, personnel, and match results.

In the official statement, the Thai club expressed absolute confidence: "Kanchanaburi Power FC is honored to welcome Lee Jung-soo as the new head coach. We hope everyone will always support and empower the team." Beyond just welcoming him, they emphasized his stature by calling him a "Korean football legend."

This title is not an unfounded favor. During his playing days, Lee Jung-soo was a pillar of the Korean national team from 2008–2013, leaving a strong mark with two goals in the 2010 World Cup. Additionally, he holds the AFC Champions League 2011 title—one of the peaks of his player career, contributing to a rich record of achievements.

Not only outstanding as a player, Lee Jung-soo also accumulated significant experience as an assistant. While working with coach Kim Sang-sik in Vietnam from March 2025 to March 2026, he greatly contributed to impressive achievements such as the SEA Games 33 championship, third place in U23 Asia 2026, and the national team's qualification for Asian Cup 2027.

Nevertheless, the challenge ahead is not small. Kanchanaburi Power is immersed in a fierce relegation battle with only three matches left in the season. Ranked 14th with 22 points after 27 matches, the team must break through to avoid a regrettable outcome. In that context, placing trust in a "legend" like Lee Jung-soo is both a gamble and the last hope for this Thai club to turn the situation around.
