Malaysian footballer Amir Abada Tawfik is set to submit a complaint to FIFA following allegations that Indera SC withheld his salary and compelled him to pay for his own upkeep in Brunei

According to reports from Stadium Astro Malaysia, the footballer of Malaysian-Egyptian descent, Amir Abada Tawfik, is embroiled in a dispute with Brunei's Indera SC. Issues arising during his playing stint reportedly caused him significant financial and professional difficulties, resulting in an undesirable experience in his career.

Sources indicate that the former Sabah II key player has prepared to submit a formal complaint to the World Football Federation (FIFA), centering on allegations such as delayed or unpaid salaries. This move suggests the matter has escalated beyond internal conflict and may be brought to the international legal level for resolution. This news is triggering widespread reaction in Malaysia.

It is understood that Amir seeks to reclaim his legitimate rights as a professional footballer. While playing away from home in Brunei, he not only contributed professionally but also had to personally cover living expenses, which he believes should not occur in a professional football environment.

Speaking about the current situation, the player expressed clear disappointment: “I am deeply disappointed because this directly impacts my career, reducing my focus and performance on the field.” These statements reveal the incident's significant impact, extending beyond finances to profoundly affect his competitive spirit.

He also emphasized that leaving the club was an unavoidable decision: “Due to the prolonged issue without resolution, I had to make the decision to depart from the club.” This is seen as a necessary step to safeguard his career amidst an unresolved dispute.

On the professional front, Indera SC currently maintains a relatively strong position in Brunei's National League, ranking second on the table, trailing the leading team Kasuka by two points.
