10-9 & 10-7! Snooker World Championship Qualifiers: Pang Junxu's last-frame victory over Jiang Jun shocks, Chang Bingyu scores 147

On April 13 Beijing time, the Snooker World Championship qualifiers continued. This competition day saw two more players enter the fourth round. Pang Junxu edged out Emery 10-9, preventing a dramatic reversal, and Jiang Jun pulled off an upset by defeating Slesser 10-7. Thus, Pang Junxu and Jiang Jun moved into the top 48, needing only one more victory to reach the main tournament. Moreover, Chinese newcomer Chang Bingyu fired another 147 maximum break against Brecel – his second in this season's four major events – securing a £147,000 bonus, which is truly exhilarating!

Pang Junxu versus Emery. Pang Junxu, a Chinese rising star known for his slow-paced style, experienced a roller-coaster match full of twists and turns. He started aggressively, scoring two century breaks and two 50+ breaks to take a perfect 5-0 lead. It seemed he would easily control the game, but Emery retaliated with a 5-0 surge to tie at 5-5, reigniting the contest. Sensing danger, Pang Junxu delivered a 3-0 run to stretch the lead to 8-5. However, Emery fiercely counterattacked with a 4-1 spurt, forcing a deciding frame. In the tense final frame, Pang Junxu prevailed, clinching a 10-9 victory over Emery and averting a major comeback, leaving him breathless with relief!

Jiang Jun versus Slesser. Against the stronger Slesser, Jiang Jun played patiently, closely trailing 4-5 after the first session. In the second session, each won two frames to reach 7-6. Jiang Jun then erupted, unleashing full firepower with four 50+ breaks and precise shooting to decisively end the match 10-7, unexpectedly advancing to the top 48 – a truly astonishing result!

Another tremendous news: Chang Bingyu, leading Brecel 5-4 in the third-round qualifier, executed a 147 maximum break during this stage. This marks his second 147 in this season's four major events, successfully claiming the £147,000 extra prize – an absolutely thrilling achievement! Chang Bingyu is also the first Chinese player to accomplish this feat.
