Indonesia suffers shocking 1-7 defeat, Thailand competes for FIFA championship title

The Thai women's team continues to display impressive form by easily defeating New Caledonia 4-0, thereby securing a spot in the FIFA Series 2026 final. Meanwhile, the Indonesian women's team lost 1-7 to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Entering the match at 20:30 on April 12th, Thailand (world rank 52) quickly imposed their game on the lower-rated opponent New Caledonia (rank 101). In the 4th minute, Pattanun Upachai made an impressive breakthrough before assisting Natalie Hongsuwan to finish accurately, opening the score 1-0.

With this result, Thailand will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the FIFA Series 2026 final, taking place at 20:30 on April 15th at Ratchaburi Stadium. Meanwhile, the third-place match between Indonesia and New Caledonia will occur at 16:00 on the same day.
