The head coach of Thailand's national futsal team could not conceal his joy after his team triumphed over Indonesia, securing their 17th Southeast Asian title.
On April 12th evening, the Thai futsal national team and the Indonesian team created a thrilling final match at the Nonthaburi stadium. Both teams entered the game with determination and continuously generated intense attacking situations. Indonesia took the lead with a goal by Andres Putra but could not maintain their advantage. Towards the end of the first half, Itticha equalized for Thailand before Panut Kittipanuvong increased the score to 2-1 in the second half. Ultimately, the host team secured a 2-1 victory and officially claimed the championship.
Notably, with this result, Thailand's national futsal team continues to extend their impressive record in the regional arena, as this marks their 17th championship win in the tournament's history.
Speaking after the match, Coach Rakpol Sainetngam admitted that his players faced immense pressure before achieving the deserved result:"The pressure was enormous. But I greatly admire the young players for competing under such pressure," Coach Sainetngam said. "Regarding Indonesia, they won then lost. Can you imagine that? Perhaps they did not face as much pressure as our players, but I must acknowledge that our players performed excellently."
"Even when trailing 0-1, we managed to control the pace of the game to reverse the situation. I want to commend all the young players, including the futsal fans. Thank you very much for your support. We have succeeded. Thank you very much,"the Thai strategist concluded.
In another development, the Vietnamese national futsal team defeated the Australian team with a score of 4-0 in the bronze medal match, thus concluding the tournament with a bronze medal.
