Hanoi I ascends to the championship throne following their victory over Viettel in the 2026 U15 National Football Championship final.
On the afternoon of April 14th, the final match between U15 The Cong Viettel I and U15 Hanoi I took place at Thanh Long Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. With a narrow 1-0 victory in the final, U15 Hanoi I excellently secured the championship of the 2026 U15 National Championship – Modern Cup.
Entering the match, U15 Hanoi I was rated slightly superior due to possessing the most effective attacking line in the tournament. From the very first minutes, the white-shirted team proactively controlled the game's tempo and organized numerous attacking moves towards the opponent's goal.
However, U15 The Cong Viettel I demonstrated solidity in defense, with a focused defensive line neutralizing many dangerous situations. The first half concluded with a tightly contested match. Despite facing significant pressure, U15 The Cong Viettel I maintained disciplined defense and organized several sharp counterattacks, forcing the U15 Hanoi I goal to remain in a state of high alert.
In the second half, U15 The Cong Viettel I proactively increased the tempo, while U15 Hanoi I maintained their solidity and created noteworthy counter situations. In the 56th minute, from a free kick outside the penalty area, player Nhan Quyen from Hanoi I launched a shot that hit the crossbar, missing a regretful opportunity to open the scoring. In the following minutes, U15 Hanoi I continued to intensify the pressure. At the 67th minute, they executed an impressive attacking combination but could not overcome goalkeeper Dang Khoa from The Cong Viettel I.
On the opposite side, U15 The Cong Viettel I also had a notable opportunity in the 70th minute, but Quang Hung's finishing shot lacked sufficient accuracy. The turning point of the match arrived in the 80th minute. From a situation not overly dangerous, Minh Huy from U15 Hanoi I executed a surprising header that goalkeeper Dang Khoa could not block, sending the ball straight into the net, opening the score to 1-0 amidst the regret of The Cong's team.
In the remaining minutes, U15 The Cong Viettel I pushed forward in efforts to find an equalizing goal, but could not penetrate the opponent's solid defensive line.
