Da Nang Club decides to replace its head coach as the Han River team faces a high risk of relegation in V-League 2025/26.
According to reliable sources, on April 15th morning, the Han River team made its most crucial decision at this pivotal moment of the season by replacing the head coach, appointing Coach Tran Minh Chien to take over from Mr. Le Duc Tuan.
This change comes as the Han River team is deeply immersed in crisis. After 18 rounds in V-League 2025/26, SHB Da Nang has only accumulated 12 points, winning just 2 matches but losing as many as 10 rounds, thus sitting at the bottom of the standings and facing a significant relegation threat. The "change of commander" at this time is seen as a pivotal move to salvage a season heading in a negative direction.
Before being replaced, Coach Le Duc Tuan was appointed in February 2025 and had previously helped Da Nang successfully avoid relegation in the 2024/25 season. However, entering the new season, the Hoa Xuan Stadium-based team could not maintain stability. Repeated individual mistakes coupled with poor finishing efficiency caused Da Nang to continuously lose points, pushing the team into a difficult situation. Despite efforts to adjust, the prolonged slump forced the leadership to make a change on the coaching bench.
On the other hand, Coach Tran Minh Chien is expected to bring a fresh breeze both professionally and spiritually. With experience coaching several clubs in V-League, Mr. Chien is tasked with the urgent mission of reviving the team and achieving the goal of staying in the league during the final sprint.
Besides the head coach position, information also indicates Da Nang will make adjustments at the upper level. Adachi is appointed as Technical Director after a brief period of involvement in a consulting role, while the club bids farewell to Chairman Vu Nam Thang.
These successive changes demonstrate the comprehensive renewal determination of the team by the Han River. However, with limited time remaining, the effectiveness of the head coach replacement decision will be the crucial factor determining whether Da Nang can remain in V-League.
