Vietnam U19 lost 1-2 to Indonesia U19 in the final Group A match of the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship.

On the second working day of the FIFA workshop on talent identification and selection criteria, FIFA expert Eric Abrams delved into analytical methods, giving participants a more specific view of the evaluation and selection process for young players.

Concepts of talent identification, the definition of talent, and the necessary qualities of a promising player were analyzed in detail by expert Eric Abrams. Through this, the participants gained a clearer understanding of the young talent selection process.

According to the FIFA expert, evaluating a young player is not only based on technical factors but also must consider physical aspects, tactical thinking, psychology, and competitive spirit. When the evaluation process is comprehensive and detailed, the chance of missing talent is minimized.

After the theoretical session in the morning, the participants went directly to Phu Tho training ground (Ho Chi Minh City) in the afternoon to observe players in action, thereby practicing the selection process based on the concepts, criteria, and methods provided in the course.
