After the 26th round of the LPBank V-League 2025/26 season concluded on the afternoon of June 7, the two participants for the relegation playoff to secure a spot in the V-League, Vietnam's top football competition for the new season, were confirmed.

PVF-CAND finished second from bottom in the V-League after a difficult season, having been promoted at the last minute to replace Quang Nam FC in the 2025/26 V-League.

Bac Ninh, after a season of investment to strengthen their squad, secured the runner-up position in the 2025/26 National First Division.

In terms of squad strength, Bac Ninh FC is considered not inferior to PVF-CAND, and even possesses many players with extensive V-League experience.

The time and venue for this playoff match have been determined and widely announced to the involved clubs and the local organizing committee: Ha Tinh Stadium.
