On June 8, 2026, in Hanoi, the Hanoi T&T Sports Joint Stock Company organized the 20th anniversary celebration of the founding of Hanoi Football Club (2006-2026) and was honored with the Second-Class Labor Medal, a noble distinction bestowed by the Party and the State, acknowledging the persistent efforts of many club generations for the growth of football in the capital city and across Vietnam.
Established in 2006 by founding Chairman Do Quang Hien, the team under the name Hanoi T&T FC started from the Third Division, the lowest tier in the national competition system. With thorough preparation, strong determination, and a clear development strategy, the club overcame initial limitations and difficulties, achieving a remarkable three-league promotion in three years—creating the most impressive ascent story in Vietnamese football history.

Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of Hanoi FC
After finishing in the top four in its first V-League season (2009), Hanoi T&T amazed everyone by winning the championship in 2010. That year, Mr. Hien constantly reminded the players to compete for the pride of Hanoi. And precisely at the time of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, the squad led by coach Phan Thanh Hung finished the season with 46 points, one point ahead of runner-up Hai Phong Cement. This title also ended the capital's 26-year national championship drought since 1984.
