Hanoi Club receives unprecedented honor in Vietnamese football history

Hanoi Club was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal during its 20th anniversary celebration, highlighting its journey to becoming a highly successful team with significant contributions to Vietnamese football.

On the evening of June 8 in Hanoi, Hanoi Club held a grand ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary and receive the Second Class Labor Medal—a prestigious award recognizing the club’s outstanding contributions to the development of Vietnamese football. The event was attended by many leaders from the Party, the State, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi city officials, representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation, and generations of players and coaches who have been part of the club over the past two decades.

Starting as a team competing in the third division in 2006, Hanoi Club has grown strongly to become one of the top forces in Vietnamese football,over the past 20 years. The capital club now boasts an impressive trophy haul: 6 V.League titles, 3 National Cups, 5 National Super Cups, and numerous notable achievements both domestically and internationally. These successes have made Hanoi Club a model of professional, systematic, and sustainable development.

On behalf of the President of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented the Second Class Labor Medal to Hanoi Club. Speaking at the ceremony, he highly praised the club’s impressive development journey and emphasized that youth training is the foundation of the club’s identity and strength. Many players who graduated from Hanoi’s academy have become key figures in the national teams across different eras.

President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan also acknowledged Hanoi Club’s important contributions to the overall success of Vietnamese football. Names like Thanh Luong, Van Quyet, Hung Dung, Duy Manh, Quang Hai, and Van Hau have not only helped shape the golden era of the capital club but also played crucial roles in Vietnam’s achievements at the regional and continental levels.

In particular, Hanoi Club’s influence continues to be evident in the next generation. Recently, head coach Cristiano Roland and six players from the club made significant contributions to help Vietnam U17s qualify for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026 for the first time in history,further confirming the quality of the club’s youth development and its impact on the national teams.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hanoi Club Chairman Do Vinh Quang affirmed that the club’s current successes are built on a long-term development strategy under the leadership of Mr. Do Quang Hien, with youth training as the foundation, identity as the core, and sustainable growth as the goal. The Second Class Labor Medal is not only recognition of a proud 20-year journey but also opens a new chapter for Hanoi Club to continue reaching new heights and contributing even more to Vietnamese football.
