Vietnam national team departs for Asean Cup

The Vietnam national team will depart for Thailand on the morning of July 20 to participate in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 with the goal of defending the championship.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players had a smooth warm-up after a 4-0 victory over Myanmar in an international friendly at Thai Nguyen Stadium. This convincing performance gives the team more confidence before entering the official campaign at the top Southeast Asian tournament.

According to the schedule, the Vietnam team will play their opening match on July 24 against Timor Leste at Chonburi Stadium (Thailand).

After that, Quang Hai and his teammates will face Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia in the group stage. As the defending champions, the Vietnam team is expected to continue asserting their position in the region under the guidance of Coach Kim Sang Sik.

Recently, the team had a training camp in South Korea to refine their skills and finalize the squad before finalizing the list for the tournament.

The coaching staff expects that consistent form, along with the combination of experienced key players and young faces, will help the team achieve the goal of successfully defending the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 title.

Club TP.HCM I wins the first leg of the National Women's Football Championship

Club TP.HCM I concluded the first leg of the National Women's Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup 2026 at the top of the table after a 3-2 victory over Phong Phu Ha Nam in the final round on the evening of July 19.

Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team started with great enthusiasm and quickly took the lead when Tuyet Ngan opened the scoring in the 4th minute. In the 29th minute, K'Thua doubled the lead before Tran Thi Duyen unfortunately scored an own goal, giving TP.HCM I a 3-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Phong Phu Ha Nam played more determinedly and narrowed the gap with goals from Hong Hue and Ta Thi Thuy.

In the concurrent match, Hanoi I defeated Than Khoang San Viet Nam 3-0 with goals from Ngan Thi Van Su, Thanh Nha, and Hai Yen. Meanwhile, Thai Nguyen T&T thrashed TP.HCM II 5-0 with a brace from Ngoc Minh Chuyen and Bich Thuy.

At the end of the first leg, TP.HCM I earned 16 points after 6 unbeaten matches to officially become the first-leg champions, 3 points ahead of Hanoi I. Thai Nguyen T&T ranked third with 12 points.

The second leg of the tournament will start on July 24 with the first three matches.

Bac Ninh FC parts ways with 13 players

After securing promotion to the V.League 2026/27, Bac Ninh Club has bid farewell to 13 players following the 2025/26 season.

The list of departures includes many experienced players such as striker Ha Duc Chinh, defender Nguyen Huu Tuan, midfielder Nguyen Hong Son, striker Nguyen Cong Tien, along with foreign players and young players who were part of the journey that brought the Kinh Bac team to the V.League for the first time.

After achieving the promotion goal, the club's management is said to continue adding many quality contracts to increase competitiveness in their first season in the V.League.

Ha Duc Chinh joined Bac Ninh before the 2025/26 season with high expectations, but did not leave much of a mark. The striker born in 1997 scored only one goal in the final round of the National First Division before helping the team achieve promotion.

The departure of many players is seen as the start of the V.League newcomer's plan to upgrade its squad, aiming for survival and building a solid foundation for the 2026/27 season.

Thai Son Bac closes in on futsal championship

Thai Son Bac Club is very close to winning the HDBank National Futsal Championship 2026 after a 3-0 victory over Saigon Titans.

The capital team started proactively and quickly took the lead with an opening goal from Nguyen Van Hieu. In the second half, Thai Son Bac continued to control the game before Gia Hung and foreign player Pinto scored in turn, sealing a 3-0 victory.

With the 3 points earned, Thai Son Bac raised their total to 34, firmly holding the top spot and creating a significant gap over their rivals in the championship race. If they win again in the next round, Coach Nguyen Tuan Anh and his team will officially clinch the title one round early.

In the remaining match, Sahako defeated Hanoi 3-1 to keep their hopes alive of competing for a position in the leading group.

Round 13 will conclude with two matches on July 20, including a clash between Thai Son Nam TP.HCM and Tre TP.HCM, and a match between Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM and Luxury Ha Long.

The results of these matches will continue to shape the race at the top as well as the relegation battle before the tournament enters the penultimate round.
