Starting July 29, the Vietnam U23 side will hold a brief gathering to check their strength, assess player condition, and get ready for the upcoming ASIAD 2026 event in Japan, scheduled for September.
This Vietnam U23 training camp features 29 players, including many who took part in the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals and the CFA Team China international friendly tournament.
Standout names in the squad are goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, defender Vo Anh Quan, midfielders Nguyen Xuan Bac, Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong, Nguyen Phi Hoang, Le Van Thuan, Le Viktor, Nguyen Cong Phuong, and forwards Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Nguyen Quoc Viet.

Nevertheless, the Vietnam U23 side cannot field its strongest lineup as many players are still on duty with the senior national team or with their clubs preparing for the new V.League season. Therefore, the call-up schedule for some players will be adjusted flexibly to balance national team responsibilities and the professional needs of their parent clubs.
While Coach Kim Sang Sik leads the senior Vietnam team in the 2026 ASEAN Championship, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh continues to be responsible for the technical work of the U23 team during this training camp.
As planned, the Vietnam U23 team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from July 29 to August 6. This period allows the coaching staff to further assess the squad, finalize the core lineup, and prepare for the important goal of the 2026 Asian Games.
The 2026 Asian Games will take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. In men's football, 15 teams are divided into four groups: three groups of four and one group of three. According to the draw, Vietnam U23 is in Group C alongside Uzbekistan, the Philippines, and Kuwait.
