Vietnam Team Ends Closed Training, VFF Chairman Visits to Encourage

The Vietnam national team returned to the VFF Youth Training Center field on the afternoon of July 29 after two days of closed training. VFF Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan visited the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to meet and encourage the team during their preparation for the match against Singapore in the second matchday of Group A of the ASEAN Championship 2026.

VFF Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan acknowledged the efforts of the coaching staff and players in their preparation as well as the convincing victory in the opening match against Timor Leste. At the same time, Mr. Tuan emphasized that the road ahead still has many challenges, requiring the whole team to maintain a focused and determined spirit and make good use of every opportunity to achieve the best results.

Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan also shared that winning the championship is already difficult, but defending the title is always much harder.

However, with thorough preparation, appropriate methods, and determination, the team can completely overcome the challenges ahead. Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his hope that the whole team will continue to promote the spirit of unity, make maximum efforts in each match, and affirmed that VFF will always accompany and create favorable conditions for the team to complete their mission.

In response to the concern and encouragement from the VFF leadership, the whole team expressed their determination to continue striving, focusing fully on the upcoming match to secure all three points, creating an advantage in the competition in Group A before their away trip to Indonesia.

Returning to the training session, the Vietnam team continued to maintain high intensity under the guidance of coach Kim Sang Sik.

The coaching staff focused on perfecting aspects of game organization, transition, and tactical coordination in both attack and defense. The atmosphere on the training ground was positive as all players showed high concentration and determination, ready for the reception of Singapore.

While the Vietnam team opened the door for media coverage for about 25 minutes of this afternoon's training session, the visitors Singapore trained completely behind closed doors at My Dinh National Stadium.

With the return of goalkeeper Dang Van Lam after injury, coach Kim Sang Sik currently has the best squad available for the reception of the Singapore team.

The match between the Vietnam national team and the Singapore national team will take place at 20:00 on July 31 at My Dinh National Stadium. This is the first home match for Vietnam in the ASEAN Championship 2026 and is expected to attract a large number of fans to the stadium to cheer.
